Togg CEO Gürcan Karakaş stated that they showcased the T10F, which they had been working on for a year, in January, saying, "Now we are also working on the successor of T10F in the same way, meaning we are working on the development of an SUV in the B segment, as we always said. By this time next year, after the sales of T10F have started for a while, we may also be ready to showcase the T8X."
Karakaş made evaluations during the test drive program held at Togg Technology Campus in Gemlik, Bursa.
Karakaş mentioned that the four-wheel-drive version of T10X could be offered for sale in June-July as a "limited edition" version, and he shared information about Togg's plans to expand internationally.
Togg's international strategy
Karakaş said, "Starting from the end of this year, we are continuing our activities to gradually establish ourselves in Europe. We had already established our company, Togg Europe GmbH, in May 2021, and we are currently building the infrastructure. We want to start pre-sales of T10X in Europe by the end of this year and start deliveries in the new model year (2025)."
Karakaş stated that the brand's international target market strategy has been updated in accordance with market dynamics, continuing his words as follows:
"A few years ago, we said, 'We will start from the Scandinavian countries, then move to the Netherlands and Belgium, and gradually come to the center of the region.' We changed that. Because the industry is developing very rapidly, and Chinese brands are spreading rapidly everywhere. Therefore, before the triangle of Germany, France, and Italy, which is the largest market in Europe, fills up completely, we decided to enter there while we are still at the beginning. Because now we feel that power and experience in ourselves as well."
Record in the first production year
Karakaş mentioned that they saw a record demand when they launched their first models, stating that they sold all the vehicles they planned to produce in 2023 within 18 hours.
Karakaş mentioned that they sold more than all the electric cars sold in 2022 in the first 8 hours, stating:
"We got answers to two important questions from this; the first one was 'Is Turkey ready for such a change?' and we saw that it is ready. Users are buying T10X knowingly and willingly. More than 80% of the orders came for the most equipped version. And from April 2023 to the end of the year, we delivered the first 20,000."
"In the world, among Chinese companies, there is no other company that we know of that has produced and sold 20,000 units in the first production year. In that sense, it is a good success for our country and for all of us, a good start, or rather. Now we need to follow it up. We are all working day and night for that."
Karakaş explained that this success will continue with new models, and the follow-up will come with their second model, a fastback, and their third model.
Recalling that they showcased the T10F in January, Karakaş concluded his words by saying, "We showed it, but we were working on it a year before.
